Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes in various aspects of human life, including in the realm of family and Islamic family law. Digitalization affects the pattern of family relations, legal proof mechanisms, and administrative and judicial practices. This article aims to analyze the challenges of Islamic family law in the digital era and examine the need for regulatory adaptation to remain relevant and fair. This research uses a juridical-normative approach through literature studies by examining Islamic legal sources, laws and regulations, and the latest academic literature. The results of the study show that the digital era poses challenges in the form of changes in family relationship patterns, technology-based legal practices, and the complexity of digital proof. On the other hand, digitalization opens up opportunities to strengthen access to justice and protect the rights of women and children. Therefore, the adaptation of Islamic family law regulations based on maqasid al-shariah and social justice is an urgent need.
